Vrije Tijd Amsterdam is a young media company in Amsterdam. Since the start of VTA, we are getting to know more and more organizations and companies in the city. A beautiful journey of discovery of diversity in Amsterdam. During reporting during Pride Amsterdam 2018, VTA discovered the TransPride, TransAmsterdam and chairman Yvo Manual Vas Dias. We see this three-part combination as bright spots during our Amsterdam media exploration. Actually, it is of course crazy that in 2018 there is still a fight for acceptance and the interests of TransGenders. Because, where you and I have the knowledge that trans people are normal, that penny does not fall with a lot of people in society. Vrije Tijd Amsterdam and TransAmsterdam are proud partners and we will continue to take care of the media in Amsterdam for as long as necessary.

Your experience can help others become themselves and/or improve the perception of transgender people. We appreciate it if you share your experience with us so that we can use it to help others.

On May 25, 2018, I was invited by TransAmsterdam to present my book "Mom, I'm a girl", a biography of the Amsterdam transgender Rika D. Lammers. It was a warm bath that I ended up in. I met so much creativity there. And what the beauty of this lifestyle organization is, that everyone can show themselves that he or she is so much more than a transgender. There are great performers, poets and singing talents that I have had the pleasure of meeting. There are also actors who give impressive performances. An enrichment. And under the inspiring leadership of chairman Yvo Manual Vas Dias I wish this organization a wonderful sustainable future.

TransAmsterdam collaborated with the Amsterdam Museum within the Meet Amsterdam program line. Meet Amsterdam is a series of programs in which the museum offers a platform to Amsterdammers who make the city what it is, but who are not (yet) often seen and heard in museums. The museum works closely with the people of Amsterdam who are involved.
TransAmsterdam's input was visible in the Transmission (2015-2016) exhibition, its substantive and practical contribution to events and collection building. The Transgender flag raised during the first TransPride in Amsterdam is part of the collection of the Amsterdam Museum.
