THE MISSION AND GOALS OF TRANSAMSTERDAM
TransAmsterdam is a transorganization for art, culture and lifestyle. Our goal is to increase the visibility of trans, including non-binary, people and to improve the perception of them through art and culture. Are you an artist and do you want to share and/or develop your talents? Or would you like to meet other trans and non-binary people? Then you can go to TransAmsterdam!
With art and culture we show that trans people are more than their gender. In this way we connect the trans community with the rest of society and we promote the emancipation and empowerment of trans people in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and beyond.
To bring out the creativity of trans people, we collaborate with various artists, such as photographers, actors, poets, musicians, writers, filmmakers and painters. In addition, we work together with national and international art and cultural organizations. In 2019 we founded the Trans Art School, where trans people can attend art, cultural and lifestyle workshops.

WHAT DO WE OFFER TO IMPROVE THE VISIBILITY AND IMAGEMENT OF TRANS PERSONS?

We organize activities for and by trans and non-binary people.

We offer workshops and theme meetings at our Trans Art School.

We offer an art and culture stage for trans artists and performers.

We organize various events, including the Trans and Friends Café InClusion, the annual TransWalk, the Trans Podium at Pride Oost, the Trans Day of Visibility and the Trans Flag Day.

We act as a discussion partner between our target group and participants on the one hand, and art, cultural and other organizations and institutions on the other.

We raise funds and subsidies that contribute to the realization of our objective.

We provide information about trans people and about art, culture and lifestyle.
