TransAmsterdam Trans Art School
TransAmsterdam, een trans organisatie voor kunst, cultuur en lifestyle en organiseert de Trans Art School. Onze Trans Art School bestaat uit creatieve workshops voor en door de trans personen. Zie ‘activiteiten blog’ of volg ons op sociale media om op de hoogte te blijven.

āMet kunst en cultuur verbinden we trans personen met elkaar en met mensen buiten de trans gemeenschap. Hiermee laten we ook zien dat trans personen meer zijn dan hun gender. āMet onze workshops creëren we op een safe place, en creatieve broedplaats voor en door onze trans personen.

TransAmsterdam Trans Art School

TransAmsterdam, a transgender organization for art, culture, and lifestyle, organizes the Trans Art School. Our Trans Art School organize creative workshops that are set up for and by the trans people.
By organizing art- and culture-related events, TransAmsterdam aims to show that trans people are more than their gender. This way, art, and culture build a bridge between the trans community and the rest of society. Our Trans Art School is a safe/creative place to empower trans people.

Who can participate in the Trans Art School?

Trans and Non-binary persons are welcome to sign up for the Trans Art School. Our workshops will give you the opportunity to develop your talents and to meet a like-minder.

In 2019 hebben we de Trans Art School met veel enthousiasme gelanceerd. Van 2019 tot 2022 hebben we het trans nieuwkomers kunst project en trans jongeren kunst project met succes georganiseerd.
In oktober, november en december, 2022 en 2023 gaan we nieuwe workshops voor trans en non binaire personen organiseren. Meer informatiemzie sociale onze social media en website

In de workshops houden we rekening met de deelnemers hun achtergrond en genderidentiteit.
Wat is het programma?
We gaan verschillende workshops organiseren. Enkele voorbeelden zijn; spoken word, theater, drag, schilderen, sing-songwriting en dans. Na afloop van de workshops is er eind presentatie en optredens tijdens verschillende events. Later meer informatie.

Bij onze Trans Art School hebben veel enthousiaste docenten, en een nog grotere diversiteit aan kunstvormen en creatieve sessies.

Trans Art School workshops.
The Trans Art School organizes multiple workshops, such as music, rap, spoken word, theater, writing, dance, drag, photography, film, presenting, sports, and martial arts. During the workshops, we will keep the participants’ backgrounds and gender identities in mind.

The workshops take place in the Meevaart Balistraat 48A Amsterdam-Oost. The Meevaart is a public cultural center that is used for multiple social ends.

Publieke Activiteiten
Het doel van de Trans Art School is om op een veilige manier een creatief podium te bieden voor onze
community. Veiligheid en respect voor alle deelnemers heeft dus veel aandacht tijdens de workshops.
Mocht je enthousiast zijn geworden en wil je je kunsten aan een breder publiek laten zien? Dan zijn er in de loop van 2023 ook enkele publieke events van TransAmsterdam, waarin je altijd welkom bent om in de spotlight te staan.

Veiligheid en Anonimiteit
Omdat de Meevaart een publiek gebouw is, geeft dit voor velen een veilig gevoel, omdat niemand weet voor welke organisatie je op bezoek komt.
Tijdens de workshops zullen onze activiteiten plaatsvinden achter gesloten deuren op een ruimte die alleen voor ons is gereserveerd. We hopen hiermee een prettige creatieve sfeer te creëren waar iedereen zich op zijn gemak kan voelen.
Respect voor jouw privacy staat bij ons voorop: tijdens workshops en bepaal jij of en hoe je het podium pakt, die wij je bieden. Als er gefotografeerd of gefilmd wordt tijdens een workshop, dan zal dit ALTIJD duidelijk, en vooraf, worden aangegeven. Bovendien zal dezelfde workshop ook herhaald worden zonder de aanwezigheid van camera's.

Safety and anonymity
The goal of the Trans Art School is to safely offer a creative stage for our community. That’s why safety and respect for all participants will be emphasized during the workshops.
As the workshops take place in the Meevaart, a public building, nobody will know what organization you’re visiting. The workshops take place behind closed doors in spaces that are exclusively reserved for participants of the workshops. By doing so, we create a pleasant, creative atmosphere in which everybody feels at ease.
We also highly value your privacy. That’s why you decide during workshops if and how you take the stage. Moreover, we’ll let you know clearly and in advance if there will be cameras present that take pictures and videos of the workshop. Every workshop will also take place without cameras present.
