It was a wonderful evening at Café InClusion, with so many people attending and a welcoming atmosphere. Rubi gave a heartfelt speech, and Tanja opened the night with a thoughtful introduction. It was great to see both new visitors and the dedicated team of volunteers come together. A warm and inclusive space where everyone could be themselves. Looking forward to the next one!
As the evening unfolded, the highlight was Rubi’s speech—full of insight and inspiration, it resonated with everyone in the room. Here’s the full transcript:
Good evening, everyone!
It is truly wonderful to see so many beautiful and inspiring individuals here tonight as we come together to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility. This day is more than just a celebration—it is a powerful reminder of our strength, resilience, and the work we still need to do for true equality.
As the Ambassador of TransAmsterdam and National Director of Miss Star International Netherlands, I am committed to using my voice to spread awareness and to continue fighting for our rights. Transgender rights are human rights, and we must never stop advocating for a world where everyone is treated with respect and dignity.
But tonight, I want to remind you of something important: we are more than just our gender. Each of us has a unique voice, talent, and influence that we can use to make a difference. Whether it’s through art, activism, business, or leadership, we all have the power to create change. Everyone can be an ambassador for equality, and together, we can show the world that we are unstoppable.
Everyone deserves to love and be loved. Everyone deserves to study, work, and live without fear of discrimination. But discrimination can happen anywhere, at any time, which is why we must celebrate and uplift the transgender community every day—not just today.
And to my fellow sisters and brothers in the community: never let anyone put a label on you. You are beautiful just the way you are. Events like this are not just about meeting new people—they’re about learning, growing, and strengthening our community. Let’s support each other. If you know someone who is struggling, trying to start a business, or chasing a dream—don’t compete, uplift them. Their success is also our success.
Let’s work together to make this world a safer, more inclusive place for everyone. Thank you, and happy Transgender Day of Visibility!
