Speech Yvo Manuel Vas Dias Transgender Day of Visibility 2023

Today is the Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to honor, acknowledge, and celebrate trans people. Trans and Proud!

It is a day to recognize and support the stories and experiences of trans individuals worldwide.

We must remain aware of the obstacles and challenges that trans people face daily, from discrimination and violence to issues with healthcare and employment.

Trans individuals often face unacceptable but also harmful and life-threatening injustices.

That is why we must show our support and solidarity for trans people daily. We must recognize the voices of trans people and work towards a world where everyone feels safe and accepted, regardless of gender identity.

We must continue to speak out against hate and discrimination and strive for a society that embraces and respects diversity.

Furthermore, we must work towards trans rights and ensure that all trans individuals have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

So today, I call on everyone to acknowledge, support, and celebrate trans people and your trans friends.

Let us unite our voices and stand up for a world where everyone can feel free and safe to be who they are.
